I'd like to welcome you to my new blog. Let me take you for a tour of all the cool stuff (or I think it's cool anyway) I've put on my page so that you can make the most of the new page setup.
1) First you'll notice my new url, http://www.speedyspeedracer.blogspot.com. It may not be a nome de plume that anyone has ever called me out loud like No Wetsuit Girl, but it's generic enough to not make me cringe when I see it. And although we all know that there's nothing "speedy" about me, at least in my opinion, it's just an eency, teency bit badass.
2) You'll also notice my new, sleek skin. This was actually the most frustrating part of this new launch. Do you know how many NFL, Alicia Keys, Hello Kitty, and Lost! blogger skins there are out there, but nary a cool endurance sports skin on the market. This was not only the best choice, it was the ONLY choice. Good thing I'm a chick, huh?
3) Next you'll notice that I've changed my blog title to something just a little bit less dorky. I've figured out by this time that most people think that I'm at least a little bit crazy. I like to think that the things I do "that only Claires would do" are why you keep coming back to suffer through the long, drawn-out things I write. I know that writing about some of the more outlandish/reckless things I do gives me nearly as much pleasure as actually doing them, usually more. I hope that this new title better represents the spirit of my blog and, well, ME!
4) Now if you'll pleas look a little farther down you'll see that I've added some subtext. This is my attempt at being inspiring. Maybe this sentence only sounds pithy to me, but the possibility of pushing my limits is why I do the silly things I do. Especially since I still hate running half the time. I've also identified myself by my old screen name so that no one will get confused and tell me that I should meet me because we're so much alike or something.
5) Now if you'll just step over here to your left we can take a look at the sidebars. There YOU are! Take a moment to marvel at your name in print. Feel free to check each other out, subscribe to each other's blogs, and leave each other comments on how cool I am.
6) Now if you'll just continue scrolling down you'll notice that I did indeed jump on the buckeyeoutdoors.com bandwagon, but don't expect me to be undergoing the humiliation of public weigh-ins. I don't even have a scale! I added this sidebar mostly because I liked the compact presentation and to allow anyone who's interested to follow my training. I'll try to keep up with it, but I'm not making any promises...
7) And if you'll continue this way please, you'll see that I've added a survey to my blog. I have no idea what kind of criteria I will use to make up my questions and answers, but I can see myself having fun with this if people participate.
8) And finally, you'll find a list of events that I've decided I want to do before I die. Some goals are time-oriented, others are simply intriguing races, yet others are qualifying for famous races, and finally some are just about winning. Hopefully I will have learned to strike through text before I have to cross one off...

But you do need to get ride of the spmng word verification yuckiness.

Nice new digs! I like it. I like the blog title, although it will be harder to yell "go speedyspeedracer", but hey...its super fun to yell too...maybe it'll just be "go speedracer" :-)
This looks great!!! I love your list of goals - very inspiring and I'm sure you'll get to cross off every one. I changed your name on my blog. Would love to learn sometime how to spruce up my site like yours... Congrats!
