I did a 125-mile ride in screaming headwinds on Sunday. It was epic. I even have a lot to say about it, but haven't had time to write it up. I'm going to be working 50- to 60-hour weeks for the next 3 weeks, so don't expect to see me much around here.
If you're curious about the ride, here's a condensed version:
Mile 15: Guy smears his face all over the road going about 30 mph. We stand around in the 30ยบ cold for about 40 minutes waiting for the ambulance.
I collected another Straight Male Over 40.
It was beautiful.
Again, HOW do people not get clipped out in time?! I just don't get it!
There were roughly 20 mph winds for the whole second half, which seemed to be working against us for about 45 of the last 60 miles.
Some people just don't know how to eat for a long ride. I'm not one of them.
