Fucking AWESOME!

I'm working on my report from the century on Sunday, but I just had to share this. Walking to the train this morning suddenly I heard people yelling and noise makers blaring. Then, off of church street came a group of about 100 high school students on bicycles and rollerblades. They were dressed up in cow costumes, Mexican sombreros, fabulous pimp outfits, Marti Gras beads, and just the brightest ensembles you ever did see and screaming their heads off. They all pulled into the rotary at the center of town (which is only about 30 feet in diameter) and did about 10 laps around it, screaming and hooting and howling and stopping traffic.

It must have been Senior Ditch Day.

Whatever it was, every single person on that train platform, and each driver forced to halt in the middle of that rotary was grinning and laughing and calling friends. I wish I'd had my cell phone to get a picture or video. I miss being in school.

Ah youth, I'm getting old.

Hehe. "Rotary." There's a word that can only be understood in one part of the country. Reminds me of the time I was talking to a friend from Boston and dropped the phrase "grain elevator" into the conversation. She looked at me like I had little green feelers on my head, then said, "You mean granaries?"

Yes. You are an old, old lady.
