One down, one to go. More details to come, but the short version of the story: I finished in 6:18: something. The course was even more challenging than expected, but I'm still happy with how it turned out. I came second out of the swim, got passed by ONE chick on the bike, and ONE chick on the run to come in a (distant) fourth overall.
I did not kill, or even see Chrissie. And yes, I will have more to say on the subject. In the meantime, I'm going to go to bed.

Congrats Oh badass one....your time was only 17 min. slower than my torture Fest Half Iron Last year....I could be in trouble.
Yeah Claire! Nice work! I can't wait to hear the whole report. I hope you survived out there today. At least it was a beautiful day!
The weather was indeed nice out there, I'm glad it stopped raining Friday to say the least.
Yes, you are a badass mofo. Good work!
SWEET!!!! That is awesome.
Wow, you ARE a bad ass! Seriously I think you will see that those long triathlons are harder than ultras. Well, maybe this is one of those times I should say harder "for me." On the other hand, a half iron really IS an ultra in my book. Way to go!! Looking forward to the full details...
Congrats on the AG award! And happy belated birthday.
